Hi, my name is Edmund Pelgen and in this video, I’m going to reveal to you the secret to success in a SEO. So what is a SEO? SEO, or search engine optimisation, is simply the process of affecting a website’s visibility in organic search engine results, which today mostly means Google. Another way to look at it is making sure your website gets found when prospective customers are looking for solutions to their problems, asking for advice or researching their alternatives.

Now, what I’m not going to teach you in this program. If you’re a business owner or the key person responsible for marketing and sales in your business, then you know how important your website is. Your domain name is not some throwaway asset that you can dispose of at will. It’s a critical part of how people discover you and your brand, your products and services, and how you can help solve their problems, improve their situation or their lives. When Google ranks websites, much of what it looks at depends on the trust and authority of the website concerned. I’m not going to teach you strategies that will impact the trust or authority that your website has in Google’s eyes.

It’s critical that you don’t do anything that might cause your site to get penalised or cause Google to lower its trust in your site. So, if you’re interested in learning how to use blog networks, spam, automated blog commenting, auto-generated content, and cloaking to improve your search engine rankings, then this is not the program for you. So, down to the nitty gritty. The secret to doing well in SEO is getting these three key elements right. Number one, you need have a solid website foundations, number two, you need content with a purpose, and number three, you need links that matter. Now, a couple of things you need to remember. When it comes to a SEO, I subscribe to the Pareto principal.

“Now, what’s that?” you might ask. Well, basically that means that you can get 80% of the results by doing the right 20% of activities. Now, there are always going to be people telling you need to be doing this activity or fixing these technical issues. But Google has an amazing ability to look past many of the small mistakes on your website and figure out what you’re trying to achieve. Focus on the key 20% of activities that will get you 80% of the results. And that’s what I’m going to teach you in this program. In the next few videos, I’m going to dig deeper into these three key SEO success factors that are: having solid website foundations, having content with a purpose, and building links that matter.
